Jan 3, 2025

I’m sending you a Happy new year and I hope you had a restful , playful and loving Christmas with family and friends. I say this every January and I’m going to say it again, how is it a new year again and where on earth did 2024 go ! I do actually look forward to January despite the short days and the lull after the festivities, it’s actually really good to have sometime to stop and look back and review the season that has just hurtled past. I love putting together my end of year wrap up looking back at all the smiles, the laughter, the tears , the antics, the dresses, the suits, the outfits , the shoes , I do love the shoes !, the flowers , the details, the venues and the food ! Boy the food was good in 2024, I was looked after so well by some really wonderful venues , you know who are you ! Can’t wait to see you again in 2025. Take a look at my 2024 highlights video below.

Big Fish Photography Suffolk Wedding Photographer 2024 Review.

The wedding season all kicked off with Sophie & James back in March , this was such a gorgeous wedding to capture as I have had the privilege of photographing other family members weddings and various different portraits and celebrations over the years so it was really lovely to see lots of familar faces and also see how much the children had grown over the last few years. I absolutely love this shot in the church of their little girl just sitting at the alter with them , such a lovely little moment.

Next was Clare & Keiths wedding at Easton Grange , with hints of vintage classic elegance , one of my favourite parts of the day was making the most of the family vintage Alpine car, so cool and so cute .

March was a busy one with four weddings in total over to South Farm next in Cambridgeshire for Paige and Daniels big day. This is a really quirky venue and I love all the different back drops and cool places to photograph.

There was definitely a lot of neon signs this year , I loved AJ & Pauls at their wedding in April at All Saints Bury St Edmunds.

May was a pretty epic month with 6 weddings all over the place and the weather was amazing. This year there has definately been a trend to make the speeches shorter, and in a few cases no speeches at all. I say do what works for you and if the thought of speeches fills you with dread who says you have to do them, its your day do it your way .

Becky & Micheal’s reactions to the speeches were brilliant, love this, as you can imagine there was alot of laughter before and after this . They always wanted a very chilled and relaxed approach to their day at the effortlessly cool Easton Grange. The photography just followed the flow of the day and they took some time out after dinner to go for a walk and we captured some relaxed portraits.

Liv & James were the next to enjoy the summer sunshine at Fynn Valley Golf Club at the Terrace , love this shot just before they enter into the reception to rapturous applause. What a lovely day and they are just the loveliest couple.

Tudor Barn Belstead was my next stop for Alex and Tylers wedding another beautiful day at this stunning venue with alot of fun and laughter all round. Alex was so excited and nervous bless her but as soon as she saw Tyler at the end of the ceremony rooms she didn’t stop smiling all day.

Otley Hall play the perfect host for Holly & Jonny’s outdoor ceremony, the grounds looked stunning and we managed to beat the rain and they exchanged vows before the rain came although we made the most of the moment and grabbed some umbrella’s and headed out capture some portraits. The one things that you can’t control is the weather so just embrace what’s to come but make sure you have some practical shoes so your gorgeous heels don’t get ruined.

Next was Bet & Dan’s long awaited big day at the historical Woodbridge Shire Hall and The Barn By Fields new venue at East Bergholt. I think the confetti moment at Bet & Dan’s wedding was one of the best I have ever experienced , the confetti circled and whirled in the breeze and stayed in the air for ages.

The first visit to Houchins for the year was for Pheobe & Jacks black tie affair, they had the most beautiful details. And their friends were so much fun, Pheobe’s bridemaids reaction when her Dad saw her was so lovely.

Back to Tudor Barn Belstead for Josh & Tash’s wedding day , another gorgoues day and a stunning outdoor ceremony with doggie ring bearers too. I do love an outdoor ceremony.

Laura & Nicks wedding at Bruisyard Hall was another really lovely day as I had photographed some of their guests weddings previously, it was really good to see them and catch up and hear all about what they’d been up to. I absolutely loved Laura’s Dad reaction to seeing her in her dress.

Jamie & Harry celebrated their big day at Easton Grange in the full day summer sun , with a beautiful golden hour I got to capture some glowing portraits of the two of them having a little break before the evening party really got going.

Now Tom & Emily’s wedding in August was always going to be a fun and loving day with family and friends of mine there too I really was part of the wedding as a photographer and guest. They had a church ceremony in a beautiful Suffolk church in Tostock followed by a reception at Hawstead Village Hall. I love these shots of them leaving the church and the guest waving them off.

Another wedding with lots of familiar faces , our best friends son Jimmy & Emma tied the knot at Pentney Abbey in Norfolk they had the most amazing weather with their gorgeous girls who were flower girls for their stunning open door ceremony and garden party.

Another different venue for Bec & Howards elegant day at Hintlesham Golf Club with black tie and cream colour scheme the couple looked effortlessly stunning. Loved the musical vibe for the day with Howard’s steeldrum band making an evening appearence.

I always knew that Stacey & Dan’s wedding would be a party and they didn’t disappoint with a 90’s chilled summer vibe session for the drinks reception and more Ibiza party tunes in the evening Woodhall’s amazing night club was the perfect place to host these guys celebration.

Kelly & Aran were another bunch of party people celebrating with family and friends at Kesgrave Hall Milsom’s Hanger, with an appearance from their fur baby they had the best day ever and partied right up until the end. I love that instead of confetti they had bubbles , if you want to be green and not have petals in your hair bubbles are a great alturnative.

Catherine & Jays wedding was another fab day , as I had photographed her brothers wedding back in 2018. This time at Vaulty Manor Catherine & Jay celebrated with a fusion of Indian traditions , it was really fab to capture some different traditions. The first was Jay being paraded down the drive with his family to met his new bride to be’s family , loved the Dhol drummers and flares that really started the celebrations off. After the ceremony both Jay & Catherine were hoisted onto their families shoulders and the first to get a garland around the others neck would start the competition as too who was to be in charge.

Jessica & Brandon and their gorgeous young family had an intimate twilight celebration at Otley Hall in October just before the clocks changed they made the most of the charming gardens, loved the autumnal tones and relaxed approached to the celebrations.

Abigail & Josh waited so long for their big day , originally they plan to wed before covid, so this special day was a long time coming. All Manor of Events was the perfect place for them finally tie the knot. Abi wanted to hold Josh’s hand before they got married but she didn’t want him to see her , so I hid them around a corner so they could have a little reassuring chat and hold hands before the ceremony without revealing the surprise before the ceremony. Confetti canons always make a great image, although I still always jump out of my skin when they go off!

Lauren & Jim had a lovely day at The Reid Rooms they had so much fun and they had a great sense of humor. I love the shot of Lauren’s mum under her dress , getting her all ready to go , these are the little moments in between that are just priceless.

And then it was time for my last wedding of the year ! How did that happen it was Emma & Pete’s twilight ceremony at the beautiful Swan at Lavenham. After a beautiful intimate ceremony we headed out to capture some portraits around the special historical streets and buildings of Lavenham.

So after taking a breath and looking back ,… another great year and what was really heart warming was that so many of my weddings came through recommendations and as a result I knew so many of the guests. Thank you to all my couples for being so easy to work with and for being yourselves. I love photographing people enjoying themselves and just being , 2025 will be my 19th year capturing weddings , so bring it on , lets do it.
