Can a small wedding work for you ?…

Jul 29, 2020

So as we all know weddings and large gatherings have been hugely effected by the Corona virus. Now we know that receptions can go ahead for 30 guests from the 1st August perhaps this could be a great opportunity for some couples!

When I got married 15 years ago at the lovely Thorpeness Country Club, I only had 40 guests to the day, Gav & I loved the fact that we could chat to everyone and we didn’t feel pressured about missing anyone out.

This could be a great opportunity for couples who would like an intimate wedding but don’t want to offend anyone by not inviting them. The restrictions takes this concern out of your hands and means that it’s really only your nearest and dearest that can come.

Also if you’re on a tight budget it’s a perfect way to keep costs down. Feeding your guests is one of the highest bills so you can still have a lovely feast but with less mouths to feed.

Easton Grange’s menu is fantastic the food is to die for..

So from the government guidelines it’s clear that the receptions are a quieter affair than usual with no live music , discos or bands but you can enjoy a meal and make the most of being together . This maybe perfect for some people, who literally just want to get hitched and celebrate differently.

It’s a brilliant way to keep your wedding eco friendly , less people, less carbon footprint, easier for you to make and create and recycle things for the day, less waste and better for the planet.

I love these buttonholes, Charlotte & Graeme’s friend made them for their fun relaxed wedding at Houchins in 2018.

With less guests means your budget for the details could be a little bigger! You might be able to have the ring of your dreams ! Or just a few more flowers to dress your venue.

Less guests = less stress !!! If you a naturally nervous person the thought of lots of eyes on you walking down the aisle may be enough for you to put off getting married ,… you don’t have to worry about that as it’s literally your nearest and dearest who’ll be there.

You’ll have more options for venues as you don’t need to cater for so many guest. There are some absolutely gorgeous venues that cater for smaller intimate ceremonies.

Sherperds Cottage at Wantisden Valley is a wonderful venue but more often than not too small for most weddings, 30 guests would be perfect…

How about a woodland wedding ? You don’t have so many people to manage you maybe able to do things a little different ? How about getting married in a woodland or outside…

Lots of venue have outside ceremony spaces , Houchins at Coggeshall have a stunning wedding terrace that accomidates lots of people but they have a woodland too !! All Manor of Events all have a great woodland ceremony area…

So there are some positives to take from the current situation and maybe they will work for you,…
